Software Engineer II

As a Software Engineer II at Diligent, you'll engage in building and enhancing their Third Party Risk Management SaaS platform with a focus on PHP and Laravel. You'll be responsible for developing scalable backend services and APIs while mentoring junior engineers and managing features through deployment.

• Design, develop, and maintain features and APIs within Laravel applications
• Own and deliver well-defined stories independently
• Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making
• Review code and uphold engineering standards
• Mentor and support junior engineers
• Use AI tools to enhance productivity
• Identify improvements for developer experience and system stability
• Maintain healthy development flow adhering to Agile processes

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience with PHP and Laravel within the TALL stack
• Understanding of relational databases like MySQL / MariaDB
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Practical experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Experience with Docker or containerised environments
• Familiarity with frontend technologies like Vue or React
