System engineer

As a System Engineer at AFAS, you work on technology that many people need to rely on. You will contribute to the stability, security, and speed of our systems, ensuring excellent performance as the environment grows. You analyze needs, design solutions, and implement improvements collaboratively while having the autonomy to make technical decisions.

• Designing, managing, and optimizing networks, servers, and infrastructures.
• Improving the stability and scalability of our SaaS environment AFAS Online.
• Supporting System Administrators with in-depth technical questions.
• Automating management and processes using tools like PowerShell and DSC.
• Identifying and implementing improvements in performance, manageability, and efficiency.

• Experience with networks, servers, virtualization, and infrastructure.
• Experience with automation and scripting, such as PowerShell and DSC.
• Ability to work with enterprise products in a Windows Server environment.
• At least 4 to 5 years of experience as a System Engineer or similar role.
• Proactive mindset to anticipate problems before they occur.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch.
• Ability to make independent decisions and explain reasoning clearly.
• Collaborative teamwork skills.
• Higher vocational education (hbo) working and thinking level.
