Data Scientist

The role involves participating in the networking of Romanistic specialist systems as part of a pilot project, developing a concept for the creation and implementation of a knowledge graph for Romanistic ontologies, and building a complex database for ontologies based on previously developed mappings. The candidate will need to coordinate with the project team of the FID Romanistik and network with the DFG-funded specialist information services.

• Participate in the networking of Romanistic specialist systems
• Develop a concept for the creation and implementation of a knowledge graph for Romanistic ontologies
• Build a complex database for ontologies based on mappings
• Implement a knowledge graph based on that database
• Coordinate with the project team of FID Romanistik
• Communicate and network with the regional DFG-funded information service network.

• Completed scientific higher education in information technology (master's level) or a related field or equivalent qualifications and professional experience
• Knowledge in the field of scientific ontologies
• Experience in Semantic Web technologies and Linked Open Data
• Practical experience with Knowledge Organisation Systems (SKOS, JSKOS)
• Experience in designing and developing interfaces
• IT knowledge in programming languages Java, Ruby, and PHP, ideally experience in JavaScript (Node.js)
• Team and organizational skills, as well as a self-directed, cooperative, and results-oriented working style.
