Design Engineer / Front End Engineer / Product Engineer - Bay Area/Remote

Major Scale is a boutique search firm partnering with tech companies to hire Front End and Design Engineers. The role involves building responsive UIs with React, TypeScript, and Next.js, working closely with founders and product teams.

• Build responsive, accessible, and clean user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Next.js
• Partner directly with founders, product managers, and design leads to turn early ideas into usable, stable product features
• Help establish or improve front-end patterns, state management, reusable component libraries, and API integration
• Ship updates regularly, refactor technical debt when appropriate, and ensure high application performance and responsiveness

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience centered on modern front-end development
• Strong, practical working knowledge of TypeScript, React, and Next.js (or similar modern frameworks)
• A genuine interest in product quality, design details, and end-user usability
• Comfort working in small, fast-moving engineering teams or early-stage environments where guidelines aren't always predefined
• Experience integrating with REST/GraphQL APIs (backend familiarity with Node.js or Python is a plus, but not required)

• Base Salary Range: $160,000 – $300,000+ per year
