Director of Payments

SaaS product company seeking a Director of Payments to lead payment strategy, manage a team of operations specialists, and oversee payment operations across multiple processors and merchant accounts. Fully remote position with unlimited PTO.

• Define and own overall payment strategy across processors, merchant accounts, APM providers
• Manage payments department costs: processing fees, fraud losses, provider fees
• Keep team’s performance good (auth rate, fraud rate, dispute win rate)
• Manage and mentor a team of Operations Specialists (Orchestration, Fraud, APM, Merchant Accounts)
• Make decisions on provider/merchant account portfolio
• Serve as escalation point for high-impact issues (account bans, policy changes, major disputes)
• Report on payments infrastructure health to CEO

• At least 5 years of experience
• Proven experience leading a payment operations team
• Deep understanding of payment orchestration, fraud prevention, and dispute management
• Experience with multiple payment processors and merchant account models
• Strong analytical skills (auth rate, fraud rate, cost metrics)
• Experience in a hiring manager role for a payment ops team
• Conversational English B2+
• Paypal experience (2 years)
