Senior Full Stack Java Engineer – AI, Data & Cloud

CGI Nederland is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Engineer to design, develop and deliver cloud-native applications and intelligent data solutions for Dutch banking clients, using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and Azure Cloud services, with a strong focus on AI and data capabilities.

• Design, develop and deliver cloud-native applications and intelligent data solutions for Dutch banking clients.
• Build scalable Java applications, develop APIs, create data pipelines and event-driven integrations, and implement AI capabilities using modern cloud services.
• Work effectively in Dutch client environments: pragmatic, collaborative, transparent and delivery-focused.
• Help embed AI-enabled ways of working across the team, identifying where automation, code generation, test support, documentation and operational assistance can improve delivery.
• Help clients modernize their platforms, unlock business value from their data and deliver secure, future-ready digital solutions.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise software development
• Proven experience working with Dutch clients and local ways of working
• Strong experience with Java 21, Kotlin, Spring Boot, microservices and Angular
• Experience with Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub
• Data Engineering experience, including SQL/NoSQL databases, data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines and event-driven architectures such as Kafka
• Knowledge of modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks or Synapse, as well as data governance principles
• Experience with Generative AI, Azure OpenAI, AI Agents, RAG, Spring AI, LangChain4j or MCP-based integrations
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT Codex, Claude Code or similar
• Familiarity with MLOps, AI observability, vector databases and AI-ready data architectures is a plus
• A strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, DevOps and DevSecOps ways of working
