Lead Frontend in the Netherlands [hybrid]

Lead Frontend Developer role at YourExpats, taking ownership of frontend architecture for a SaaS platform. Work with React and TypeScript, collaborate with backend developers and founders, and focus on UX and product design. Hybrid working from The Hague.

• Take technical ownership of our frontend architecture and development.
• Build and further develop our platform using React and TypeScript
• Design reusable, scalable and maintainable frontend components.
• Integrate the frontend with backend services and REST APIs
• Translate business requirements and complex workflows into intuitive user interfaces.
• Improve the overall UX and consistency of the platform.
• Think critically about user journeys, interactions, layouts and information architecture.
• Work closely with backend developers on API design and implementation.
• Review code and establish frontend development standards and best practices.
• Improve frontend performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Help determine technical and product priorities.
• Turn ideas and prototypes into production-ready functionality.
• Continuously look for opportunities to make the platform simpler, faster and more user-friendly.
• Strong view and willingness to use AI in a structured way with guardrails

• You have strong professional experience developing modern web applications and are comfortable taking responsibility for the frontend of a growing SaaS platform.
• Extensive professional experience with React. (>3 years at least)
• Strong experience with TypeScript
• Solid knowledge of modern JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience building applications that interact heavily with APIs
• Experience structuring larger frontend applications and reusable component libraries.
• A strong understanding of responsive web development.
• Experience with state management and modern frontend architecture.
• Good understanding of authentication, authorization and frontend security principles.
• Experience working with Git and modern development workflows.
• An eye for detail and a strong sense of UX and visual design
• The ability to work independently and make pragmatic technical decisions.
• The confidence to challenge requirements when you see a better solution.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Experience with Next.js, design systems, Figma, automated testing, CI/CD or SaaS platforms is a plus.
