Senior Flutter Engineer

Our client is a Danish company developing an all-in-one platform for a safe and easy life on the water. The platform consists of a cross-platform mobile app and a web application, powered by a Supabase backend. We are looking for a Senior Flutter Engineer to join as the primary mobile engineer, responsible for developing and maintaining the mobile app, handling app store releases, and collaborating closely with a small team.

• Develop and maintain the mobile app (Flutter): build new features, with a strong ongoing focus on maps functionality, one of the app's core areas.
• Own key architectural decisions for the mobile app. You won't be doing this alone: a teammate with long-standing, hands-on experience on the mobile side of this project will be your go-to person for architecture discussions, especially during onboarding.
• Handle app store releases: prepare, submit, and manage releases to Google Play and Apple App Store.
• Collaborate closely with a small, committed team; we are looking for a team member, not just a programmer.
• Take initiative: we value curiosity, maturity, and proactive problem-solving.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Dart, Flutter, and Riverpod.
• Experience working with maps (ideally Mapbox): this is core, ongoing work on this project.
• Native mobile experience: ability to write Swift/Kotlin when Flutter packages fall short or require custom platform integrations.
• Good knowledge of RESTful APIs: consuming and integrating with backend endpoints.
• Understanding of performance optimization and battery consumption optimization.
• Experience with caching and local data storage.
• Hands-on experience integrating mobile apps with external hardware, IoT devices, or sensors via BLE is a big plus.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building and deploying apps to Google Play and Apple App Store.
• Experience using AI prompting effectively (we use Cursor).
• Good grasp of software development best practices: architecture, security, scalability.
• Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
• Full proficiency in English, for daily work with teammates and managers in Denmark.
• Comfortable occasionally assisting with backend tasks by extending Supabase Edge Functions (TypeScript). We have a dedicated backend team that owns this day-to-day; this would be occasional, ad hoc support, not a core part of the role.
• Familiarity with Nest.js and/or Nuxt API is a bonus.
