Senior Database Administrator

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for enterprise database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability. The role involves leading migration projects, optimizing performance, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

• Design, implement, and maintain high-availability database solutions across on-premise and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource management
• Ensure security and compliance
• Lead database migration projects to cloud platforms
• Establish and maintain database governance, including documentation and policies
• Implement monitoring and alerting for database health and performance (Datadog, SolarWinds)
• Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines
• Plan and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical guidance

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator (5+ years)
• Expertise in MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Azure SQL
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and indexing strategies
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Experience with database monitoring tools (Datadog, SolarWinds)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• In-depth understanding of database security best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills in English
