Software Engineer, Elixir

Telnyx is building a private, global, multi-cloud IP network and edge technology platform. This Software Engineer role focuses on developing and maintaining the stack that allows customers to interact with Telnyx's products and platform, including API gateway, authentication, and rate-limiting services, while working with various engineering teams to improve service exposure and monitoring.

• Design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Telnyx’s engineering teams
• Debug production issues across gateway, auth, network, and application layers
• Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale, both internally and externally
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, processes, observability and reliability

• 3+ years of professional software development experience with Elixir
• Appreciation of functional programming and strong desire to become an expert Elixir programmer
• Thoughtful approach to decision making, knowing when to move fast and when to long-term optimize
• Experience working with relational databases at scale
• Understand challenges inherent in concurrent and distributed programming
• Deep knowledge of microservices architecture patterns and anti-patterns
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Prometheus, Grafana and/or RabbitMQ
• Keep up to date with the latest technologies and patterns
