Senior Backend Developer (Python/Docker)

We're seeking a strong and creative Software Developer to solve problems of scale and work on cutting-edge technologies. • Work closely with other engineers, designers, and management teams to rapidly build, iterate, test, and deploy new features and products and main a high-quality robust codebase
• Improve and scale the existing products and tools
• Launch new projects from ideation to completion
• Actively support your team's deployed software
• Drive the development team towards the goal by integrating skills and experiences.
• design integration with 3rd parties (Python AWS interoperability role)
• work with Auths (Authorizations) process - connect to many different systems interoperability via healthcare data / companies / health systems / EMR
• Work with QA, product management, and operations in an Agile environment.
• Develop and support data-driven product decisions in a high energy high-impact team.
• Participate in the resolution of production issues and lead efforts toward solutions.
• To maintain legacy applications and participate in the migration to newer technology in the mid-term if needed.
• Collaborate and drive research to find the solution to system bugs and issues.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Advanced proficiency in Python 3.12+ as software or data engineering
• MongoDB, ideally with Beanie ODM (async) for persistence layer
• OAuth/OIDC + JWT — auth via Keycloak and Descope; backend is provider-agnostic, works off JWT claims
• Docker / docker-compose — everything runs in containers
• Mastery of API design (REST), FastAPI (async)
• Comprehensive grasp of databases (SQL/NoSQL)
• Expertise in cloud services
• Experience with Event-Driven Microservices Identity management/OAuth
• Experience with observability, tracing, and other cloud-native patterns
• Healthcare interoperability resources (FHIR) R4, SMART Health Links/Cards (SHL/SHC)
• JWE decryption
• Testing discipline: pytest + Cucumber/Playwright E2E
• QR/image decoding (pyzbar/zbar)
• storage connector integration (Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, SMTP, FHIR servers)
• Observability: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus
