Full-Stack/Frontend Software Engineer (all genders)

Our team in the Zalando Payments Risk Management department is dedicated to building sophisticated fraud detection and prevention tooling. In this role, you will take ownership of building and operating user-facing services that incorporate AI-based inputs and manage order annotations for fraud detection.

• Product engineer across modern frontends, and deliver accessible, internationalized, form-heavy React experiences using TypeScript, MUI, React Hook Form/Zod, and Vite
• Turn user and customer feedback into usable workflows with clear validation, resilient error states, and discoverable data interactions.
• Work with various stakeholders to understand business context, and support the implementation of a solution and measure it against success criteria (e.g. customer feedback)
• Deliver secure, compliant solutions by designing and implementing orchestration processes and workflows, ensuring all solutions strictly adhere to non-functional requirements and regulatory constraints like GDPR or DORA
• Act as a proactive team player by spearheading documentation and knowledge sharing, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and providing best of class usability and extensibility.
• Take ownership of the full software lifecycle, utilizing AI and automation to streamline workflows and improve code health, while identifying opportunities to integrate with broader internal systems and front-ends.

• 3+ years of experience in designing frontend systems using React, Typescript, and writing well-structured, observable, and maintainable code covered by automated tests that are rolled out to production in small and safe iterations.
• Communicate clearly with product managers and engineering peers to clarify requirements, proactively resolving ambiguity and solving complex technical challenges.
• Demonstrate a customer-centric approach and pragmatism, taking ownership of your solutions to ensure they deliver tangible business value.
• Possess a proactive, self-driven mindset, exhibiting passion for continuous learning and identifying opportunities to improve existing workflows.
• Support your team’s growth by providing constructive feedback in code reviews and actively sharing knowledge to foster technical excellence.
• Experience with Vite, Zod, or complex state management libraries, as well as integration with restful APIs and event-driven systems.
• A background in highly regulated environments like fintech or risk-management software.
• A track record of spearheading documentation initiatives within your engineering team.
