Senior Backend Python Engineer

IndieBI is building business intelligence tools for PC and console game developers, focusing on pricing and promotional-discount data. The role involves building FastAPI services and data jobs for storefront integrations, with a significant DevOps/infrastructure component.

• Build and maintain typed, async FastAPI services backed by PostgreSQL and MSSQL (SQLAlchemy 2.x + Alembic)
• Extend storefront integrations and diagnose them when a platform changes its API or auth flow
• Write scheduled data jobs (Airflow / containerized jobs) that scrape, backfill and reconcile discount and pricing data
• Ship your own work: Code → GitLab CI → Kubernetes (AKS), watch it in Elastic/Kibana + Sentry, and fix it in prod
• Work with Azure day to day - service principals/Entra auth, Key Vault secrets, Blob storage, etc
• Make small, safe changes to Terraform infrastructure and shared platform libraries
• Resolve production issues
• Work with internal teams on features for internal tools

• Strong Python - modern, type-hinted code; Pydantic v2; async/await; comfortable with SQLAlchemy and relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server, or other sql database)
• FastAPI or an equivalent modern Python web framework in production
• Solid DevOps fundamentals - operate confidently with Docker, a CI/CD pipeline, and Kubernetes
• Kubernetes knowledge - understand pods, replicas, deployments, services and kubectl
• Working Azure knowledge - identity/service principals, secrets, storage, or messaging (Service Bus)
• Git-based workflow discipline - small reviewed MRs, linters and type-checks as gates, tests you can trust
• Observability - Elastic/Kibana, Sentry, APM or other similar tools
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
