Back End Developer - Python & AI Security

Backend Engineer role at an early-stage company building runtime infrastructure for safe deployment of AI agents. The role involves developing the core policy evaluation engine using Python and FastAPI, with integrations with AI agent platforms.

• Building and optimising a sub-millisecond policy evaluation runtime
• Developing integrations with LangChain, LangGraph, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Agent SDK and Claude Code
• Working on hash-chained, tamper-evident audit logging
• Improving structured observability and incident escalation
• Taking ownership of features from design through to production

• Strong Python experience, including FastAPI, async/await, and type hints
• Experience with distributed systems
• Knowledge of high-throughput logging or observability
• An understanding of security and data privacy
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, low-meeting environment
• Bonus: Experience with AI/ML platforms, LangChain, LangGraph or compliance technology
