Senior Software Engineer I

Senior Software Engineer at Elsevier working on Generative AI Chatbots and associated tooling, ensuring smooth user experience and integration with other systems. The role involves development and maintenance of Digital Assistant Chatbots and other Generative AI technologies.

• Development & maintenance of Digital Assistant Chatbots
• Working closely with the business and other technical colleagues, help build and maintain Digital Assistant Chatbots on the kore.ai platform
• Development & maintenance of other Generative AI technologies
• Work to integrate Generative AI solutions into existing technologies which the team support
• Assist in evaluating new solutions
• Working with the business to evaluate new technologies that they propose
• Working with architecture to ensure proper processes are followed
• Liaising with project stakeholders
• Working with other technology teams to integrate APIs

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
• Experience working with Digital Assistants / Chatbot Technologies
• Experience with Generative AI concepts
• Experience of Typescript/JavaScript
• Experience of Python and/or PHP
• Experience of SQL (Snowflake preferred)
• Knowledge of AWS technology
• An understanding of accessibility
• Ability to work on your own or as part of a team
• Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources
• Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
• Good oral and written communications skills
