Backend Engineer, Operations Technology (all genders)

HelloFresh is hiring a Backend Engineer to join their HelloTech organization in Warsaw. The role involves building and scaling core systems for global supply chain management, focusing on automated demand forecasting and inventory replenishment.

• Design and implement reliable, high-quality technical features for core supply chain microservices and data pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with a cross-functional agile team to break down complex requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Apply modern engineering practices like DevOps, Continuous Delivery, and cloud-native development.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical roadmap for high availability and scalability.
• Work with Kotlin, Kafka, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Debug and resolve issues in production systems handling large volumes of asynchronous data.

• Strong professional experience in software development with problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in a backend language such as Kotlin or Java.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies like Next.js/Redux is a plus.
• Practical experience in building and operating microservices in a distributed system environment.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), stream processing (Kafka), and relational/document databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MongoDB).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD and testing.
• Agile mindset and dedication to cross-functional collaboration.
