Software Engineer, DevSecOps

Moderna is strengthening its international business services hub in Warsaw, supporting growing global operations. As a hands-on DevSecOps Software Engineer, you'll partner with developers to build secure, scalable platform capabilities that simplify software delivery and accelerate innovation across the organization.

• Build and evolve automation powering Moderna's internal developer platform using technologies including Python, TypeScript, GitHub Actions, Pulumi, Docker, AWS, JFrog, and various vendor APIs.
• Collaborate closely with application engineering teams ("Builders") to migrate workloads onto standardized, secure platform capabilities.
• Support migration and ongoing management of existing DevOps tooling by onboarding repositories and engineering teams, validating platform behaviour, improving developer workflows, and documenting remediation paths.
• Design, build, and maintain developer remote workspace infrastructure, reusable templates, container configurations, base images, development tooling, and onboarding documentation.
• Improve platform reliability and operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, dashboards, runbooks, and automation.
• Develop clear internal documentation, implementation examples, and "paved road" guidance.
• Identify recurring developer challenges and continuously improve shared frameworks, reusable templates, automation, and platform tooling.
• Participate in operational support for owned platform services while continuously automating repetitive operational activities.
• Help expand AI-assisted software development by integrating MCP-style capabilities, packaging internal engineering tools, supporting AI agents, and improving developer experience through modern AI-powered workflows.
• Contribute across the complete software lifecycle from design and implementation through cloud infrastructure, deployment, CI/CD, and production operations.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or a related role.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.
• Hands-on experience building and operating solutions in AWS.
• Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for production systems.
• Interest in developer tooling, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and secure software delivery.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including testing, code review, version control, and system design.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing team priorities and contribute across a range of platform engineering responsibilities.
