Software Engineer II - Acquisition and Funnel

The Acquisition and Funnel team at Rocket owns RocketLoans.com, focusing on the borrower experience from landing page through application funnel. This role involves working on a platform that originates personal loans, using a modern tech stack including Next.js and NestJS, with a strong emphasis on frontend work, experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Work on RocketLoans.com and the borrower experience from first landing page through the application funnel
• Work within a shared design system, run A/B tests, and use analytics to understand user funnel behavior
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code
• Provide peer code review and mentor other engineers
• Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems
• Collaborate with product, implement new functionality, squash bugs, maintain code health, deliver scalable services

• 4+ years of experience with backend programming languages such as Java, C#, or preferably JavaScript/TypeScript
• 4+ years working with relational databases (MySQL, MSSQL, or preferably PostgreSQL), including data modeling and basic query optimization
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and service-based systems
• Experience writing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and concepts such as mocking, stubbing, and contract testing
• Hands-on experience integrating with third-party vendors or external systems
• Strong ownership and accountability with problem-solving, results-driven mindset
• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, and business
• Able to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
