Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Nuitée is building an API-first travel infrastructure platform. They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own the backend of a white-label travel platform, adding new verticals like experiences and car rentals. The role involves shaping architecture, leading integrations, and staying hands-on with Node.js and TypeScript.

• Own the backend of a white-label travel platform as it adds new verticals.
• Shape the architecture, lead the integrations for each new vertical, and stay hands-on in the code.
• Design the backend so that adding a vertical doesn't mean rebuilding what already works.
• Integrate third-party travel APIs and payment providers so that bookings stay reliable when a supplier is slow or fails.
• Build schedulers, cron jobs, and workers that stay dependable as traffic grows.
• Keep AWS infrastructure performing for client launches without over-engineering it.

• 4 to 5 years in backend engineering, including at least 2 years of full-time Node.js and TypeScript in production.
• Designed REST APIs and relational schemas in PostgreSQL.
• Worked with background jobs, schedulers, or workers that talk to third-party systems.
• Roughly two years of hands-on AWS, enough to run a product that has to handle real traffic.
• Taken ownership of a product's outcomes beyond the tickets assigned to you, and stepped in when a teammate was out.
• Experience leading technical decisions for a team, or have been in a position to.
