Senior Frontend Engineer, Video UI

Knightscope is a security technology company building autonomous security systems. This role involves owning the Signals video UI, the primary customer-facing surface, as it is brought in-house from a third-party vendor. The engineer will set frontend standards and lead the codebase.

• Own the Signals video UI codebase and development lifecycle.
• Lead knowledge transfer from the current vendor UX designer.
• Partner with the video/streaming backend team on end-to-end streaming experience.
• Establish frontend standards for testing, accessibility, and performance.
• Prepare the team and codebase for the paired frontend hire later in 2027.

• 7+ years in frontend engineering.
• Strong experience with real-time video UI (WebRTC clients, media players).
• Deep experience with a modern frontend framework (React preferred).
• Accessibility and performance-first mindset.
• Comfort owning a customer-facing surface end to end.
