Junior Offensive Software Engineer (591723)

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a talented Junior Offensive Software Engineer to strengthen the development team. You will contribute to building innovative solutions critical for the success of military operations and support the development of malware and tools used by Cyber Teams. The position involves research and development, testing, and collaboration within a dynamic team.

• Contribute to building innovative solutions for military operations
• Develop malware and tools for Cyber Teams
• Translate customer needs into technical specifications
• Work on small to medium software projects
• Conduct research and development to improve malware products
• Test and verify the functionality of software products
• Investigate and reverse engineer software and malware

• Basic knowledge in software engineering
• Experience programming in C/C++, Python, or Rust
• Experience with assembly and systems programming
• Knowledge of network protocols, primarily ARP, IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, TLS, HTTP
• Understanding of cryptography
• Knowledge of operating system internals
• Experience in debugging and reverse engineering software
• Understanding of CI/CD systems
• Experience with version control systems like Git
