Senior Software Engineer

FUGA is a subsidiary of Downtown Music Holdings and provides forward-thinking music distribution, technology, and marketing services to music companies. The Senior Software Engineer role focuses on building scalable systems, with responsibilities in backend services, microservices, and high-volume data processing.

• Design, build, and operate backend services in Java and Kotlin
• Develop scalable, production-grade microservices
• Build and maintain APIs for internal and external use
• Work across transactional, analytical, and document databases
• Ensure system reliability, observability, and performance
• Contribute to systems that process high-volume data pipelines
• Collaborate on evolving the platform towards stronger data capabilities

• Strong experience in Java and/or Kotlin
• Solid understanding of Spring / Spring Boot / Hibernate
• Proven experience designing and building microservices
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong SQL skills and data modelling fundamentals
• Experience building and integrating APIs
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
• Experience with messaging systems (Redis Streams, Google Pub/Sub, etc.)
• Strong focus on code quality, testing, and maintainable system design
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
