OKAPI:Orbits is an innovative German SaaS startup aimed at making spaceflight more sustainable through collision-avoidance software for satellites. The role involves supporting the development and maintenance of intuitive and powerful web applications and APIs, contributing to various space-related projects.

• Support the development and enhancement of web frontends with Angular and TypeScript as well as backend components with Java
• Assist in implementing user-friendly and high-performance web applications
• Support building UI components and dashboards, for example with PrimeNG and Plotly.js
• Collaborate on API integration and the connection between frontend and backend
• Aid in analyzing and resolving bugs and technical issues
• Participate in testing, quality assurance, and documentation of features
• Help in advancing CI/CD processes and automation
• Work closely with developers, scientists, and engineers in an interdisciplinary team
• Gradually take on small features or subprojects

• Ongoing studies in computer science, software engineering, or a comparable field
• Initial practical experience in software development through projects, internships, or student work
• Basic knowledge of TypeScript and ideally Angular or another modern web framework
• Understanding of web fundamentals, APIs, and client-server communication
• Interest in clean code, testing, and modern software development
• Initial experience with Git and collaborative development is advantageous
• Good English language skills
• Initial exposure to Java or backend development is a plus
• Interest in data visualization or 3D technologies like CesiumJS
• Basic knowledge in testing or CI/CD
• Interest in space or complex technical systems
