Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer at DHL eCommerce Benelux, you will play a key role in shaping the data landscape and developing data products while optimizing data architecture. This position involves working at a high level with modern technology stacks and leading the development of data solutions that impact strategic decision-making.

• Architecting and optimizing scalable data solutions with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Leading innovation by identifying opportunities for optimization, modernization, and automation of data processes.
• Coaching junior and mid-level engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Translating strategic goals into technical solutions in collaboration with Business and IT.
• Driving technological innovation by keeping up with the latest developments and introducing relevant new technologies.

• Completed HBO or WO education in Data Science, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of work experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• In-depth experience with SQL, data modeling, and optimization.
• Experience with Azure solutions (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory) and CI/CD processes.
• Experience with metadata-driven development and Lakehouse architecture is a plus.
• Proactive and analytical mindset with strong communication skills.
• Experience in mentoring or coaching other engineers is an advantage.

• Salary between € 5.000,- and € 6.500,- based on 40 hours, depending on knowledge and experience.
