Engineering Manager, Product

The Engineering Manager will lead a cross-functional team to deliver quality user-facing experiences and drive the company’s strategic growth in a dynamic environment.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3-8 software engineers through all phases of the employee lifecycle.
• Drive a positive team culture aligned with Epassi’s values, motivating the development team and promoting collaboration.
• Coordinate effective communication and collaboration within your team and across departments.
• Drive technical execution and delivery of platform roadmap initiatives, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with business objectives.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and coding standards for the fullstack codebase of your vertical.
• Own the reliability and quality of your team’s services, including API contracts, SLAs, and documentation.
• Remove blockers and create an environment where engineers can do their best work.
• Recruit, interview, and hire top software engineering talent while building a diverse and inclusive team culture.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Staff Engineers to define technical requirements and implement architectural decisions.
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions to the Head of Engineering and stakeholders.
• Promote automation, CI/CD improvements, and modern tools and techniques.
• Leverage AI-native development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.

• Completed technical degree or equivalent qualification.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a hands-on development background, ideally across backend with Java/Springboot and/or frontend with React or React Native.
• 2–3+ years of experience leading cross-functional engineering teams consisting of backend, web, and mobile engineers.
• Strong technical foundation across Java backend, React Native, and React Web.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for translating technical context for stakeholders.
• Proven experience leading and motivating development teams.
• Strong background working within agile development frameworks.
