Scientific Software Developer - Python, AI Assisted Development (f/m/d)

The role involves collaborating with scientists and engineers to translate requirements into robust software while leveraging AI-assisted development tools.

• Translate customer and business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
• Design and implement robust, production-quality software solutions using Python and existing platform APIs.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the engineering workflow, applying sound judgment to validate design decisions and ensure long-term quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with scientists, application experts, and fellow engineers to ensure solutions address real-world use cases.
• Act as a role model within the team by demonstrating strong ownership, a focus on quality, and collaborative working practices.

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Physics, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with at least 3 years of professional experience building production-quality software with a strong understanding of modern software engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLM-based developer tools and the ability to critically review, validate, and refine AI-generated code.
• Experience working with data-intensive or scientific software systems, ideally in the context of mass spectrometry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
