Senior Frontend Engineer

Helsing is a defence AI company focused on protecting democracies through technological leadership. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will collaborate with product designers and engineers to enhance usability and create reusable foundations for multiple front-ends, ensuring optimal end-user experience.

• Review code contributions, proposals, and RFCs from colleagues.
• Own the user interface end-to-end from early wireframes and prototypes to performant, production-ready code.
• Propose and implement new features, capabilities, tooling, visualizations, or full products across our stack.
• Establish and evolve our React component library for consistency and reusability.
• Collaborate with others beyond your team and share knowledge with the wider frontend community.
• Become a mentor and help support and develop our interviewing pipeline.
• Present your work at weekly demo sessions.

• Write legible, maintainable, and performant frontend code using TypeScript and React.
• Experienced with APIs and server-client communication like REST and GraphQL.
• Experience with running live production software.
• Passionate about current development best practices, libraries, and frameworks.
• Comfortable working with unfamiliar backends, ideally with some exposure to languages like Rust.
• Communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Enjoy collaborating with others, including reviewing code and pair programming.
• Comfortable working asynchronously.
