What are Scroll-driven Animations?

Scroll-driven animations are animations controlled by page scrolling. Their progress depends not on time but on scroll position: the further the user scrolls, the further the animation advances. This makes it possible to create effects "tied" to scrolling: parallax, smooth block appearance, scale changes, offsets, opacity changes, and so on.
