Java Backend Developer

About the Position

Opti — transport company, one of the leaders in the passenger transportation market. We provide services in over 30 cities in Ukraine and are actively expanding our presence in Poland. Now we are looking for a Java Backend Developer to join the development of our own intelligent geoservice, working on a product used daily by thousands of people.

Responsibilities5

• Development of backend API for geoservice modules.
• Implementation of business logic and CRUD for custom addresses.
• Integration with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Redis, OpenSearch.
• Creation of import/export modules for addresses and working with GeoJSON/JSON/CSV formats.
• Integration with external geoservices and routing engine.

Requirements10

• Experience in Java development of at least 2 years.
• Excellent knowledge of Java 17+ and practical experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience in developing REST APIs and working with PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of caching principles (experience with Redis is preferable).
• Basic experience with search systems or data indexing.
• Familiarity with PostGIS and understanding of geoentities (point, line, polygon) is an advantage.
• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Docker and writing unit/integration tests.
• Understanding of OSM tools, Nominatim, Photon, or Valhalla.
• Experience in domains like maps, logistics, taxi.
