About the Position

PayCompass is a privately-owned financial services firm seeking a Full Stack Web Developer to join their on-site team in Tempe, AZ. The role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing web-based applications using NextJS/React, NestJS REST APIs, NodeJS TypeScript, and SQL Server databases.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining web applications using NextJS/React, NestJS REST APIs, NodeJS typescript code, and SQL Server databases
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Maintaining and optimizing existing codebases for performance and scalability
  • Building and maintaining APIs and integrations with third-party services
  • Utilizing modern frameworks and tools for both front-end and back-end development
  • Contributing to architectural decisions and the overall software development strategy
  • Debugging and resolving application issues and improving application performance
  • Participating in code reviews and team knowledge sharing
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in full stack web development with experience in NextJS/React, NestJS REST APIs, NodeJS typescript code, and SQL Server databases
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or SQL Server
  • Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, specifically Azure (bonus)
  • Exposure to containerization tools like Docker (bonus)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (bonus)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
