About the Position

Capgemini is hiring a Python backend engineer to build sustainable digital futures for major banks and insurance companies in the Netherlands. The role involves developing and maintaining software solutions with a focus on Python, cloud (Azure), and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications
  • Apply scientific methods to analyse and solve software engineering problems
  • Responsible for the development and application of software engineering practice and knowledge, in research, design, development and maintenance
  • Supervise the technical and administrative work of other software engineers
  • Build skills and expertise of software engineering discipline
  • Collaborate and act as team player with other software engineers and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge (3+ years) of Python 3.x features, clean, modular, testable code
  • Proficiency with typing, async, dependency injection
  • Experience with modern Python API framework (preferably FastAPI)
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design, integration with third-party APIs
  • Unit testing (pytest), mocking and API contract testing
  • Docker-based development
  • CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
  • Experience deploying APIs in Azure
  • Base Azure knowledge
  • Azure EntraID (Identity and access management)
  • Microsoft Graph API
  • Azure Storage Solutions (Storage Account, CosmosDB)
