Network-Focused Cloud Engineer

As our Network-Focused Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring a stable cloud platform which is evolving with the needs of the organization. Vattenfall is a European energy company. The Digital Platform Operation Team operates the Vattenfall Digital Platform, ensuring stable cloud systems with tasks including governance, IaaS, PaaS, network operation, monitoring, Azure DevOps support, and capacity management.

• Cloud Networking: Understanding Cloud-onPrem connectivity (ExpressRoute, MPLS, BGP); Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based network architectures (e.g., VPCs, subnets, routing, paas specific subnet creation, network Segmentation, private endpoints); Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams to integrate networking solutions; Automate network infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like PowerShell, Bicep / Arm; Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues in cloud environments; Knowledge in designing and operating Next Gen Firewall Environments, ideally Check Point.
• Scripting: Writing scripts in Powershell, Bash
• Automation and orchestration: Creating and maintaining automation based on scripts using e.g. REST
• Configuration Management: Using tools like ARM templates, Bicep but also Ansible or DSC
• OS support: Troubleshooting OS issues with Windows and Linux
• Governance: Ensuring proper usage of tagging, permission handling, naming and policies; Support platform audits
• Financial analyses: Having a good understanding of the cloud financial model and the TCO; Giving advice on cloud consumption
• Security: Manage and react on alerts from Azure Security Center; Guiding projects together with IT security for secure implementation
• Source Code Management (Azure DevOps): Manage Azure DevOps (create project rooms, licenses management, feature enablement); Backlog handling

• An academic Degree in IT, engineering, science or mathematics
• Interested in new technologies and a fast learner
• Experience with cloud services
• Experience in a large international environment
• Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Be able to work under pressure
• Ability to translate complicated technical matters into simple understandable language
• A broad and versatile profile with one or several areas of deeper technical knowledge
• Expert on Network in Cloud environments
• Basic understanding of OS, Backup, Security, Databases, Web, Azure PaaS Services
• Ability to code and/or script
