Network-Focused Cloud Engineer

Vattenfall is looking for a Network-Focused Cloud Engineer to join their Digital Platform Operation Team, responsible for ensuring a stable cloud platform with a focus on cloud networking, automation, and governance. The role involves working with Azure, scripting, and configuration management in a multi-competence team.

• Understanding Cloud-onPrem connectivity (ExpressRoute, MPLS, BGP)
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based network architectures (e.g., VPCs, subnets, routing, paas specific subnet creation, network Segmentation, private endpoints)
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams to integrate networking solutions
• Automate network infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like PowerShell, Bicep / Arm
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues in cloud environments
• Knowledge in designing and operating Next Gen Firewall Environments, ideally Check Point
• Writing scripts in Powershell, Bash
• Creating and maintaining automation based on scripts using e.g. REST
• Using tools like ARM templates, Bicep but also Ansible or DSC
• Troubleshooting OS issues with Windows and Linux
• Ensuring proper usage of tagging, permission handling, naming and policies
• Support platform audits
• Having a good understanding of the cloud financial model and the TCO
• Giving advice on cloud consumption
• Manage and react on alerts from Azure Security Center
• Guiding projects together with IT security for secure implementation
• Manage Azure DevOps (create project rooms, licenses management, feature enablement)
• Backlog handling

• An academic Degree in IT, engineering, science or mathematics
• Interested in new technologies and a fast learner
• Experience with cloud services
• Experience in a large international environment
• Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Be able to work under pressure
• Ability to translate complicated technical matters into simple understandable language
• A broad and versatile profile with one or several areas of deeper technical knowledge
• A background in network and willingness to develop to a T-Shaped Cloud Specialist
