Senior Frontend Engineer (m/f/d)

Senior frontend engineer role at journaway, a travel tech company. Build and maintain a design system in React and Tailwind, own frontend performance in Next.js 16, and develop the Node.js layer. Fully remote team with AI-native workflow.

• Build and maintain design system in React and Tailwind
• Own frontend performance in Next.js 16 — rendering, bundle size, real-world experience
• Treat accessibility as a default, not cleanup
• Develop Node.js layer (Express.js, Nest.js) between UI and backend, with Redis for caching
• Push for clean code and automated testing, share knowledge
• Use coding agents daily — direct, review, fix
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and technical decisions

• Several years building production frontends with React, Next.js, and TypeScript
• Good knowledge of Tailwind CSS and client-side state with Zustand
• Unit and component tests with Vitest, end-to-end tests with Playwright
• Comfortable with Node.js, Express.js or Nest.js, and working against microservices APIs
• Works well in agile teams (Scrum/Kanban), writes clearly, comfortable in English
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Nice to have: experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Holistic problem-solving: looks beyond own ticket, questions processes, judges by system improvement
