About the Position

Delivery Hero is a global local delivery platform. The role is for a Senior Software Engineer in the Quick Commerce tribe, focusing on Category Management. The team works on product categorisation across the global catalog, using large-scale distributed systems and applied ML/LLMs. The engineer will build next-generation platform for non-food offerings, including back office applications like master product database, catalog management, campaign management, ad-serving/ad-booking systems.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creation of our next generation platform for quick commerce.
  • Design and optimize internal back office applications such as master product database, catalog management systems, campaign management, ad-serving/ad-booking systems.
  • Build reliable, scalable systems with high concurrency.
  • Work at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems, applied ML/LLMs, and real customer impact.
  • Help build technology that scales non-food offerings and drives revenue growth.

Requirements

  • Java or Kotlin expert in the context of distributed systems and services.
  • 4+ years of experience in Spring Boot or similar Java Frameworks.
  • A rock-solid foundation in Computer Science (data structures, algorithms, software design).
  • Familiar with common CI/CD tools, ideally GitHub Actions, Drone, or Spinnaker.
  • Actively writing high code quality, automated testing, and following engineering best practices.
  • You are a pragmatic programmer who understands what is needed to get things done in a collaborative manner.
  • Familiar with common monitoring / alerting / logging tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, ELK stack, distributed tracing (nice to have).
  • Building, maintaining & running a high-traffic system in a microservice environment with Kubernetes (nice to have).
  • Familiar with communication between microservices best practices (nice to have).
  • Familiar with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, gRPC and Kafka (nice to have).
