DevOps Team Lead

About the Position

Automat-it is an all-in AWS Premier Partner and Managed Services Provider specializing in the startup ecosystem. We seek a DevOps Team Lead to anchor the expansion of our EU-based engineering team. You will mentor and coach a team of DevOps engineers while delivering best-in-class infrastructure solutions for high-growth startups.

Responsibilities8

• Lead and manage a team of 6–8 DevOps Engineers, ensuring on-time, high-quality project deliveries
• Define and participate in creating architecture and designs for infrastructure and CI/CD solutions
• Conduct code reviews, hands-on coaching, and enforce technical best practices across the team
• Manage and track Statements of Work (SoWs) in collaboration with customers, PMO, and leadership
• Provide hands-on guidance on complex elements of build automation, continuous deployment, and IaC
• Facilitate transparent communication between the team and customers
• Manage estimations for pre-sale and sale stages
• Drive continuous learning within the team, including staying current with AI-assisted development practices using tools like GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, or Cursor to accelerate infrastructure-as-code delivery and code reviews

Requirements10

• Proven experience successfully leading IT projects from inception to delivery
• 2+ years of Team Lead (or similar) experience managing DevOps and/or SysAdmin teams
• 5+ years of hands-on AWS infrastructure experience; AWS certification is a plus
• 5+ years of experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Familiarity with Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Solid Linux OS and networking knowledge
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English
• Strong task management and organizational skills
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted dev tools (GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Cursor) to accelerate IaC and code reviews
