Software Engineer, Release Engineering

Mozilla Corporation is looking for a Software Engineer for its Release Engineering team. The role involves optimizing and maintaining the build and deployment pipeline for Firefox, ensuring reliable delivery of software to over 200 million users. The team is distributed across North America and Europe.

• Write software that scales - tens of thousands of tasks are run to build, test, and release Firefox every single day
• Collaborate with senior+ engineers to improve the developers’ experience, then implement the improvements.
• Work with a geographically-distributed development team between North America and Europe
• Collaborate with others by requesting and providing code reviews
• Respond to critical service outages (during normal working hours - no on call rotation is required)

• Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related programs) or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an object-oriented programming (OOP) language (preferably Python)
• Passionate about CI/CD pipelines
• Some previous experience using cloud resources (e.g. on AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Comfortable developing in Windows, macOS, and Linux environments, experience with shell scripting
• Worked on a team distributed across time zones
