Backend Developer Lead

Devart is a Ukrainian multiproduct company seeking a Backend Developer Lead for Mobion, a cloud-based ride-hailing platform. The role combines hands-on Node.js/TypeScript development with technical leadership, driving architecture and engineering practices while mentoring the backend team.

• Lead backend architecture and technical decision-making for the Mobion platform
• Combine hands-on Node.js/TypeScript development with technical leadership of the Backend Team
• Drive the gradual modernization of legacy components while maintaining platform stability and delivery speed
• Improve system performance, reliability, observability, automated testing, and CI/CD practices
• Mentor Backend Developers, support technical growth, and strengthen engineering standards across the team
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Software Architecture to turn business needs into scalable technical solutions

• 5+ years of hands-on backend product development experience with strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
• 2+ years of experience as a Team Lead or Tech Lead, combining hands-on development with technical leadership
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL/MySQL and Redis
• Experience designing and evolving distributed systems, REST/WebSocket APIs, and event-driven integrations
• Experience modernizing legacy systems through incremental refactoring, automated testing, and CI/CD practices
• Solid experience with cloud-native production environments, including Azure, Kubernetes, observability, reliability, and application security
• Experience driving technical improvements across architecture, code quality, and engineering practices, combined with strong mentoring and leadership skills
• Experience or strong practical interest in AI-assisted engineering and spec-driven development
• Experience with mobility, logistics, or transportation products is a plus
