React Engineer, Sr.

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior React Engineer to join their remote team to design and develop pages for their Online Banking application. The role involves technical decision-making, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers.

• Join a collaborative team of developers, automation engineers, product managers, and scrum masters to support online banking solutions.
• Collaborate with product and business owners to understand requirements and suggest optimal design and implementation strategies.
• Design and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance web pages and microservices for the online banking platform.
• Maintain a significant focus on hands-on coding, ensuring code quality, security, and maintainability.
• Gain comprehensive knowledge of the client-facing web application, data architecture, microservices, and internal systems integration.
• Establish and promote best practices by delivering frameworks, standards, and reusable components.
• Estimate large features and releases, break down complex tasks, and lead teams toward successful implementation and deployment.
• Drive technical design discussions, achieve consensus, and obtain approval from the Architecture Review Team.
• Perform impact analysis on proposed changes, considering architecture, capabilities, and system priorities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, refactoring, and technical debt reduction.
• Mentor junior team members, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions, providing expert guidance and innovative solutions.
• Share knowledge through group training sessions, lunch-and-learns, and documentation updates.
• Proactively seek opportunities to learn new technologies and improve existing skills, supporting team growth.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in software application development and maintenance, or High School Diploma or GED with at least 8 years of relevant experience in software development and maintenance.
• 8+ years of front-end/UI focused software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with React 16+, Redux, Mobx Store Management, Node.js, Typescript, ES6, CSS3, CSS Preprocessors, and Grid Layout Knowledge.
• Experience with Jest testing framework and TDD methodologies.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Iterative delivery processes.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, RESTful web services, and transactional databases.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration solutions, API gateways, and web application security best practices.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, Docker, and Jenkins.
