Senior Backend Engineer

Onepage.io is building an AI-native website builder that allows businesses to create and grow their online presence using an AI agent. They are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Node.js experience and mature architectural thinking to design, build, and scale new services and integrations.

• Write new services, optimize existing ones, automate internal processes
• Design architecture for new directions and be responsible for key technical decisions
• Integrate third-party platforms
• Improve Developer Experience in the team
• Work with other teams on shared tasks
• Build a product used daily by hundreds of thousands of people

• 7–15 years of experience with Node.js and backend development
• Ability to set technical direction, argue trade-offs, and deliver solutions to production
• Understand when to use monolith vs microservices (and when neither)
• Experience working in microservice architecture
• Worked with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm (Istio is a plus)
• Ability to profile code and queries
• Experience with complex migrations (not just rename field)
• Knowledge of asynchronous queues, event streaming, data transformation
• Proficient in TypeScript
• Confident with Nest.js
• Built services working with MongoDB + PostgreSQL
• Worked with NATS or similar
• CI/CD experience: GitLab Pipelines, Prometheus, Grafana preferred
• Testing: Jest or others, Selenium is a bonus
• Implemented REST, JSON-RPC API, event-driven architectures, and real-time solutions
• Ability to effectively use AI assistants for coding as part of daily workflow

• Contract work with FOP or other form if in Europe
