Senior Full Stack Java Developer

Our client is supporting an established UK organisation seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to design, enhance and maintain web applications and ERP-related solutions that support core business processes. This is a hands-on role spanning backend services, user interfaces, relational data and integrations.

• Design, develop and implement maintainable solutions across frontend, backend and database layers
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Apply good practices across coding, testing, security, performance and deployment
• Build and enhance backend services and business logic using Java and Apache OFBiz
• Develop and maintain OFBiz entities, services, events, screens and components
• Use Groovy to implement rules, integrations, automation and scripting
• Troubleshoot production issues, complete root-cause analysis and implement robust fixes
• Develop interfaces using FreeMarker, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
• Deliver responsive and accessible components, with cross-browser consistency
• Design efficient SQL queries and appropriate schema enhancements
• Support ERP workflows and integrations while protecting data integrity and process alignment
• Develop interfaces, data mappings, and scheduled jobs with integration and application teams
• Write unit and integration tests and contribute to automated coverage
• Participate in code reviews and uphold development standards
• Maintain appropriate technical documentation
• Support releases and post-release hypercare, including occasional out-of-hours activity

• 5+ years of experience
• Proven commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer, Java Developer or similar
• Strong Java development capability across business logic and web applications
• Hands-on Apache OFBiz development experience
• Practical Groovy and FreeMarker experience within an OFBiz or closely related environment
• Experience delivering or integrating ERP applications and workflows
• Frontend capability using HTML, JavaScript and CSS
• Strong SQL skills, including query optimisation and relational data modelling fundamentals
• Understanding of web application architecture, API design and secure coding
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis across application and data layers
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative approach to development, review and delivery
• Willingness to support occasional travel and out-of-hours release activity
