(Senior) Software Engineer

Augustus is building America’s first stablecoin-native clearing bank, backed by $40M from Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures and others. We are an elite engineering team building a programmable bank for digital assets and AI. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will own core banking systems end-to-end, translating complex financial problems into clean code.

• Work on core banking systems and own projects end-to-end
• Turn complex financial problems into clean code
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and clients
• Make system design and technical tradeoff decisions
• Help build the Programmable Bank around Digital Assets and AI
• Ramp up quickly and ship meaningful code within first weeks
• Drive major projects autonomously
• Influence technical direction as a key team contributor

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience (backend-focused)
• 3+ years in early-stage or small startup environments
• Based in Berlin or ready to relocate
• Ability to own large projects end-to-end
• Strong system design and technical decision-making skills
• Precision engineering mindset for reliable, scalable code
