Senior Java Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to analyze, design, program, debug, and modify applications. The role involves full-stack development using Java, Python, SQL, and Angular, collaborating with product teams to deliver scalable solutions.

• Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies applications using Java, Python, SQL, Angular or other relevant software programming languages.
• Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.
• Writes technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
• Works closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, Business Analysts and QA to ensure successful delivery of desired solutions
• Participates in code reviews and contributes to team knowledge sharing
• Writes clean, scalable and efficient code
• Designs and integrates both transactional and analytical data storage solutions
• Completes technical requests/issues as required
• Participate in other standard tasks including release management, interviewing, etc.

• 5+ years of experience in Java Spring Boot and RESTful API development
• Strong knowledge of JPA, Hibernate
• Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server), including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning
• Advanced SQL skills for both transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) workloads
• Experience designing and developing modern front-end applications using Angular (or similar frameworks), including integration with REST APIs
• Experience with data modeling, including normalized and dimensional models (star schema, fact and dimension tables)
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL, Python, or cloud-native tools
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices for scalable analytics solutions
• Familiarity with BI/reporting tools and translating business requirements into reporting/data solutions
• Experience working with large datasets and optimizing data processing and query performance
• Experience with AWS Lambdas, S3, and other resource types highly preferred; familiarity with cloud-based data services (e.g., Redshift, Glue, Athena) is a plus
• In-depth understanding of design patterns and their application across front-end, backend, and data layers
• Fluency in developing and understanding sequence diagrams, class models, and data flow diagrams
• Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry
• Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (e.g., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development)
• Knowledge of financial services industry is desired but not required
• Knowledge of banking practices, regulations, and operations within assigned line(s) of business is desired but not required
• Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines, including translating business needs into application and data architectures
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
• Ability to work across the full stack (UI, API, database, and data/analytics layers) with strong ownership of end-to-end solutions
• Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
• Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
