Senior Full Stack Java Engineer

CGI is looking for a proactive Senior Full Stack Java Engineer with strong passion for AI, Data and Cloud technologies. The role involves designing, developing and delivering cloud-native applications and intelligent data solutions for Dutch banking clients. The candidate will work in Agile teams, building scalable Java applications, APIs, data pipelines, and implementing AI capabilities using modern cloud services.

• Design, develop and deliver cloud-native applications and intelligent data solutions for Dutch banking clients
• Build scalable Java applications, develop APIs, create data pipelines and event-driven integrations
• Implement AI capabilities using modern cloud services
• Work effectively with Dutch client environments: pragmatic, collaborative, transparent and delivery-focused
• Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, security teams and delivery teams in regulated enterprise settings
• Help embed AI-enabled ways of working across the team, identifying where automation, code generation, test support, documentation and operational assistance can improve delivery
• Combine software engineering, AI and data expertise to help clients modernize their platforms, unlock business value from their data and deliver secure, future-ready digital solutions

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise software development
• Proven experience working with Dutch clients and local ways of working
• Strong experience with Java 21, Kotlin, Spring Boot, microservices and Angular
• Experience with Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub
• Data Engineering experience, including SQL/NoSQL databases, data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines and event-driven architectures such as Kafka
• Knowledge of modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks or Synapse, as well as data governance principles
• Experience with Generative AI, Azure OpenAI, AI Agents, RAG, Spring AI, LangChain4j or MCP-based integrations
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT Codex, Claude Code or similar
• Familiarity with MLOps, AI observability, vector databases and AI-ready data architectures is a plus
• A strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, DevOps and DevSecOps ways of working
