About the Position

This role positions you at the intersection of business and engineering, collaborating with Finance, Retail, and Risk teams to implement business logic in DBT, design data pipelines, deliver data products, and ensure data quality.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement solutions within the cloud platform, ensuring they meet both business needs and technical standards.
  • Translate source data models into NIBC's centralized target data model.
  • Ensure high data quality through robust design, automated testing, observability, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Work closely with business domains, IT specialists, and colleagues within the Data & Analytics department.
  • Maintain clear documentation of data models, transformations, and business logic.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in analytics engineering, DBT, data modelling, and cloud data platforms.
  • Implement business controls, data quality checks, and observability solutions using DBT, Soda, or comparable tooling.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or Business Analyst with a strong focus on data integration, analytics, and data modelling.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Proven ability to implement complex business logic, transformations, testing, and workflows using DBT.
  • Advanced SQL development and optimization skills.
  • Experience using Python for data transformation, automation, and analytics.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, analytics engineering principles, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, as well as data lakes, lakehouses, and modern data architectures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
  • Experience with banking-specific regulations and reporting requirements is an advantage.
