Software Engineer

Coverwatch is building an AI-native commercial insurance broker. We're a team of second-time founders (ex-YC, Pear VC) who previously built a tech-enabled services company and worked at Google and Goldman Sachs. This role involves shipping end-to-end features, designing systems from scratch, and building real-world AI used daily.

• Ship end-to-end features autonomously — take a problem from conversation to production without hand-holding.
• Design and architect systems from scratch — make foundational technical decisions that compound as we grow.
• Build real world AI used daily — prototype, productionize and evaluate AI workflows for brokers.
• Work directly with brokers and customers — understand problems firsthand and iterate based on real outcomes.

• 3–5 years of experience building production software.
• Strength in backend architecture, system design and writing clean, production-quality code.
• Agentic AI systems and LLM-based applications with experience in orchestration frameworks like LangChain, pydantic-ai, agno, etc.
• RAG, search and retrieval pipelines with experience building your own.
• Building and optimizing agentic code setups.
• Fluent in AI-assisted development: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, custom MCP setups.
