Senior Software Engineer

Awaze is Europe's largest managed vacation rentals and holiday resorts business. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Search Team to shape how millions of guests discover their next getaway. The role involves building scalable systems and seamless user experiences across a portfolio of trusted travel brands.

• Work as part of a full-stack product team responsible for building innovative products that deliver exceptional experiences for our guests and property owners.
• Help shape the overall architecture and technical strategy for our Search platform.
• Drive engineering best practices, including CI/CD, Test-Driven Development, cloud-native architectures and pair/mob programming.
• Mentor and support the growth of graduate, junior and mid-level engineers.
• Be an active member of the engineering community and contribute to the wider technology culture at Awaze.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, Analytics and Design teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

• Significant commercial experience building large-scale distributed systems and/or front end facing applications.
• Building applications in TypeScript, React & Kotlin.
• Experience with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch or similar search technologies.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native technologies, including ECS, API Gateway and CloudFront.
• Leading front end teams, building e-commerce websites using nextjs, react.
• Developing, securing or operating cloud scale applications or infrastructure as code.
• Experimentation and analytics tools such as Optimizely and Google Analytics.
• Working with Data Science, Design and Analytics teams.
• Modern quality practices, such as pairing, TDD, BDD.
