QA Engineer

QA Engineer role focused on test strategy and automation for a React-based web front-end, with occasional manual testing of mobile SDK. Wallee Group AG is a Fintech startup.

• Design, write, and maintain automated test suites for the React front-end (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests)
• Read and understand React component code well enough to test it effectively (props, state, hooks, component structure) and write targeted tests, not just black-box UI scripts
• Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines so automated tests run on every PR/build
• Define and grow test coverage strategy and quality gates for the web app
• Investigate, document, and file clear, reproducible bug reports; work with engineers to triage and verify fixes
• Contribute to test plans and acceptance criteria during feature planning
• Occasionally perform manual testing of the mobile SDK (Android & iOS) — functional and regression testing across devices/OS versions
• (Roadmap, longer-term) Help evaluate and potentially build automated testing for the mobile SDK

• 3+ years in a QA Engineer role, with hands-on test automation experience
• Ability to read and understand React code — components, hooks, state/props flow
• Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
• Proficiency with a modern JS/TS test automation framework (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Jest, React Testing Library)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins)
• Strong bug reporting and communication skills
• Nice to have: Experience manually testing mobile apps on real devices/simulators (iOS and/or Android)
• Nice to have: Experience testing native or cross-platform SDKs
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Android (Kotlin/Java) and/or iOS (Swift) enough to read stack traces or sample integration code
• Nice to have: Experience setting up mobile test automation (e.g., Appium, XCUITest, Espresso)
• Nice to have: API/backend testing experience (e.g., Postman, REST-assured)
• Nice to have: Performance or accessibility testing experience
