About the Position

Meridian brings context-aware AI agents to industries like supply chain, manufacturing, and staffing. The Software Engineer role is full-time, on-site in New York, NY, designing and maintaining backend systems for AI-driven products.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, builds, and maintains backend systems and services that power AI-driven products, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Writes clean, maintainable code, implements APIs, integrates data sources, and collaborates with product and AI teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participates in code reviews, improves development processes, and troubleshoots production issues to ensure smooth operation of customer-facing systems.
  • Contributes to architectural decisions, documentation, and continuous improvement of the overall software stack.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and systems fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience shipping production-quality code.
  • Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including building and maintaining APIs and services.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in modern codebases.
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript and relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Comfort working in Linux-based environments, using version control (Git) and standard development tooling.
  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team, communicate clearly, and take ownership of projects from design through deployment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience with AI/ML systems or data-intensive applications is a plus.
