Full-Stack Engineer - Ruby on Rails

FeedbackFruits is an edtech company on a mission to make active learning the norm in education. We build collaborative learning tools for universities and partner closely with instructors. We're hiring a senior full-stack engineer to help build the next version of our platform, modernizing from Rails + Ember.js to Rails + Hotwire while improving performance, stability, and shipping speed.

• Join one of our engineering squads and own full-stack delivery on the roadmap, from backend logic and database design to the server-rendered UI it connects to
• Lead the migration of Ember features to Rails + Hotwire, understanding existing functionality, redesigning it with PMs/designers, and shipping better solutions
• Handle support escalations and legacy bug-fixing alongside feature work
• Contribute to improving our CI/CD practices and deployment pipeline for more frequent, reliable releases
• Keep performance in mind across the stack
• Build and maintain integrations with Learning Management Systems using LTI and partner APIs
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Ruby on Rails is your home stack: shipped production code, knows conventions, comfortable with edges
• Writes tests as a matter of course using RSpec and Capybara
• User-oriented: first instinct is to think about the person using the feature
• Experience with legacy codebases, knowing what to fix and leave
• Understand CI/CD well enough to work within good practices
• Communicates clearly, gives honest feedback in code reviews
• Pragmatic and documents decisions; makes thoughtful trade-offs
• Familiarity with Ember.js or migration to Hotwire is a genuine advantage
• Experience with AI dev tooling, Azure, or observability practices would serve you well

• Gross yearly salary between €65.000 and €92.000 (incl. 8% holiday allowance)
